Physician – Monmouth

DFD Russell Medical Centers operates three community health centers in central Maine. We are seeking a full-time Physician, for our Monmouth location.

Our three health centers serve a multicultural, rural population of about 10,000 patients and have a family practice focus serving pediatrics to geriatrics. We have integrated behavioral health, care managers, a patient assistance coordinator and an excellent clinical support staff.

This position requires a high degree of flexibility, good clinical skills, commitment to teamwork and open lines of communication. It is full-time at 4 days per week. On-Call rotation, every 8 weeks.

Requirements Current license to practice in the state of Maine. Proficiency with electronic medical records, (Centricity is a plus).

Our three health centers serve a multicultural, rural population of about 10,000 patients and have a family practice focus serving pediatrics to geriatrics. We have integrated behavioral health, care managers, a patient assistance coordinator and an excellent clinical support staff. Medical Assistants are responsible for performing a variety of duties in both the clinical and administrative areas including assisting physicians with patient care and handling clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. Integrated Patient Care Facilitators/Medical Assistants are responsible for performing a variety of duties in both the clinical and administrative areas including assisting physicians with patient care and handling clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. Our staff is cross-trained to handle all aspects of patient care so we are looking for a self-motivated M.A. that is interested in providing the best possible healthcare to our patients.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

1. Ability to maintain confidentiality 2. Proficient computer skills 3. Ability to project a pleasant and professional image even under stressful situations 4. Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others 5. Ability to organize and accomplish multiple tasks and to have the flexibility to meet changing demands on a daily basis 6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and other staff 7. Knowledge of healthcare field and medical office protocols/procedures 8. Skill in performing medical assistance tasks appropriately 9. Minimum one year experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and/or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office 10. Current BLS required or must be obtained within 3 months from start of employment 11. All newly hired Medical Assistants must have a certificate from an accredited vocational institution, or community college to indicate completion of courses in Medical Assisting. National Certification or eligibility to take the exam is required.
