DFD Russell Medical Centers (DFD) is pleased to announce the addition of three new staff members to the DFD team in Bridgton: board-certified family nurse practitioner Jennifer L. Michaud, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC; board-certified primary care physician Trisha Gushue, DO; and board-certified adult-gerontology nurse practitioner Bridget Ross-Fitzgibbons, AGNP-C.
Jennifer L. Michaud, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, specializes in primary care for all ages, and has experience treating mental health issues such as substance abuse and opioid addiction. She approaches healthcare with empathy, deep listening skills, and a desire to help people, all central components of DFD’s personalized, patient-centered care philosophy. Jennifer comes to DFD from Hometown Health Center in Dexter, Maine, where she worked as a family nurse practitioner.
“Providers have a responsibility to the public to provide safe, holistic, patient-centered care,” said Jennifer L. Michaud, FNP-BC. “My patients are not just numbers or medical conditions, but individuals that require and deserve individualized attention and care.”
Trisha Gushue, DO, has been a family medicine physician for the past 25 years, Dr. Gushue is particularly interested in child development, women’s health, wellness and preventative care, and osteopathic manipulation. She comes to DFD from Poland Community Health Center in Maine.
“I see wellness as a shared responsibility between the patient and physician,” said Dr. Gushue. “I know that healing comes from within the individual, and anything I can do as a physician in support of the mind, body, and soul will help patients complete the healing cycle.”
Bridget Ross-Fitzgibbons, AGNP-C, practices a comprehensive style of healthcare, partnering with her patients to create individualized care plans that respect patients’ wishes and specific situations. A nurse practitioner for more than a decade, Bridget comes to DFD from Genesis Physician Services in North Conway, New Hampshire.
“Listening to patients is key,” said Bridget. Taking the time to listen, explain, and understand care issues brings about better care and better outcomes, she believes. “My role is to help my patients get the best care and always be their advocate … I believe that care should always be individualized and patient-focused.”
